Star architect Meinhard von Gerkan has died at the age of 87. His best-known buildings include Berlin Central Station and the BER - Berlin Brandenburg Airport. His trademark is light-flooded spaces of glass and steel. He was considered Germany's most famous architect and one of the most influential architects in the world.
