Le Corbusier and the Continual Revolution in Architecture, (The Monacelli Press, 2000), Le Corbusier and the Tragic View of Architecture [HUP, Charles Jencks 1973,王錦堂老師有翻譯本] ,篇幅增加近倍。
Le Corbusier and the Tragic View of Architecture 一書中的"the Tragic View of Architecture"是何意思,所以連書名都改了。
Le Corbusier and the Continual Revolution in Architecture,

After his second wife Maggie Keswick Jencks died in 1995, Jencks helped co-found and Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres. Based on the notion of self-help and the fact that cancer patients are often involved in a long, drawn-out struggle, the centres provide social and psychological help in an attractive setting next to large hospitals. Their architecture, landscape, and art are designed to support both patients and caregivers and to give dignity to those who, in the past, often hid their disease. Maggie Keswick Jencks is the author of the book The Chinese Garden, on which her husband also worked.

One Christmas Day Gropius dressed up as Santa Claus and, according to Gunta Stölzl, who led the weaving workshop, “served every single person present personally. A kind of washing of the disciples’ feet.”

Features a fresh assessment of the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius and the Bauhaus, Mies van der Rohe, Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, Buckminster Fuller, and many others. He also discusses the leading examples of 1960s and 1970s American and British work, including the "Camp" and "Pop" movements.

~ Modern Architecture Since 1900, by William J. R. Curtis 20世紀世界建築史 ,p.687

Given Jencks’s long career as an author, landscape designer, and tastemaker, his legacy extends well beyond these centers. But in matching aesthetic invention with emotional empathy, they are remarkable for foregrounding a quality not often talked about as a primary motivation in architecture: kindness.

The New Paradigm in Architecture: The Language of Postmodernism
(seventh edition of The Language of Post-Modern Architecture), Yale University Press, London, New Haven, 2002.
“Machines à penser” focuses on three major philosophers of the 20th century: Theodor W. Adorno (1903-1969), Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) and Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951).Adorno, on the other hand, was forced into exile from his native Germany during by the Nazi regime, first to Oxford and then to Los Angeles, where he wrote Minima Moralia, a collection of aphorisms that also reflects on the fate of forced emigration. These reflections inspired the installation conceived by the Scottish artist and poet Ian Hamilton Finlay in 1987 titled Adorno’s Hut, a centerpiece of the exhibition alongside architectural reconstructions of the actual huts of Heidegger and Wittgenstein.
