Jakob Weidemann 1923 – 2001



Rolf E. Stenersen was only 19 years old when he bought his first work of art. Over time he built up one of Norway’s largest private collections of works by Edvard Munch. He also purchased works by younger Norwegian artists such as Jakob Weidemann. Weidemann has played a central role in the breakthrough of abstract painting in Norway. Many of his motifs are inspired by nature and studies of the forest and meadows. In the exhibition "Everything we own" you can see this work by Weidemann, "Forest Floor", which is one of his most famous motifs.
