完美色卡，17 世紀就有！
1692 年，一位署名「A. Boogert」的荷蘭畫家，一筆一畫完成將近八百頁的「水彩色系指南（Traité des couleurs servant à la peinture à l’eau）」。比起 1963 年推出的 Pantone 色票，A. Boogert 整整早了 271 年！是目前發現最早、也是當時最完整的色彩指南。
每一個顏色，A. Boogert 都給予精確的命名，並且解說調配方式，例如必須加上幾滴水或幾滴顏料。為了說明論點，他在每一個對頁上寫下詳細的文字為讀者解惑，甚至還編有目錄，具系統性的色彩一字排開，一目了然。十七世紀被稱為荷蘭畫家的黃金年代，作者在序言表示本書的目的為教育指導，可惜當時並沒有獲得廣大流傳。如今重新翻開它，不僅在藝術史上添了一筆，更讓世人一睹繪畫界的燦爛風華。

Recently brought to the public eye by Erik Kwakkel is A. Boogert’s 1692 manual on mixing watercolors, “Traité des couleurs servant à la peinture à l’eau" or "Treaty on Painting Watercolors." The Dutch book details mixing and creating colors from the lightest to darkest hues of watercolors and conjures in the mind a 17th century sort of Pantone color dictionary.
