#Onthisday in 1797 Sir Anthony Panizzi was born. The famous circular Reading Room in the Great Court of the British Museum was designed in the 1850s at the instigation of Panizzi, who was then Keeper of Printed Books. The design provided the Library with an impressive premise and was used by the likes of Bram Stoker and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
