Carlo Carrà 1881-1966

Italian Futurist and Metaphysical painter Carlo Carrà was born on this day in 1881. In "The Funeral of Anarchist Galli," Carrà depicts a conflict at the funeral of Angelo Galli, who was killed by police during a strike. Police didn’t allow Galli’s fellow anarchists to visit his grave and responded violently to the ensuing protest. http://mo.ma/2lqaHze#MoMACollection
