Mecanoo has developed a dedicated quality management system for the office, called MEC-OS, which follows the principles from an integrated quality management system as set down in the ISO 9001:2008. This quality management system is at all times accessible to all employees thru Mecanoo’s intranet system. This provides a consistent, professional approach and gives clients the assurance of a clear and manageable set of processes and procedures within the office and that data is handled with care. Regular revisions to the quality system are made through carefully controlled procedures. The system is dynamic and flexible and can be adapted to the specific needs of the client or the organisation of a project. Mecanoo continually strives to enhance the professionalism  of our services, further developing the skills and the flexible deployment of staff.
The quality system of Mecanoo is ISO 9001:2008 certificated.

Designing sustainable buildings is in Mecanoo’s DNA. From its founding in 1984, Mecanoo has designed buildings in recognition that sustainability is a social responsibility. Sustainability goes beyond the use of solar collectors, heat pumps and a green roof. Buildings should be carefully integrated into their urban context. Sustainability is also about lasting through time, identity, a rich morphology, materialization and how the space is experienced. The buildings must inspire their users to be socially and ecologically responsible. Sustainable buildings should be flexible enough to change with the times through integrated building design techniques. Our sustainable design team advises on every project so that each encompasses a sustainable and environmentally conscious building practice.
