Once called, "one of the world's most influential, inspiring and astonishing structures," by Time Magazine, Crown Hall is widely considered to be the finest work of Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe. Built to house the Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture, it showcases many core elements of Mies' design vocabulary.
“There is an art to restoration,” says Mark Sexton of Chicago's Krueck + Sexton, who took on a mighty task of restoring Mies' Crown Hall at IIT. “You have to deeply understand the building and design around it.”
